Through the leadership of Pastor Diosdado Fofue, Central Luzon Conference (CLC) ministerial secretary, the workers of the conference set history for its 15-hour workers’ meeting at Cucueco Hall February 14, armoring themselves with more advance techniques in performing their duties.
“We are setting history this day as our program started at 8:00 am and as it will end at 12 midnight,” Fofue said. “The evangelism planning is our main target.”
Fofue shared with pastors ideas on mission, general guidelines in evangelistic planning and mass evangelism, producing 27 crusades that will shape baptism goals during the first and second quarter of this year, excluding plans for the entire year.
“Do the ministry that you receive from God to testify to the good news of God’s grace,” Fofue emphasized.
Pastor Israel Bacdayan, CLC stewardship director, discussed the involvement of members and workers in evangelism, local church evangelism and small group evangelism to strengthen the attendees view on the roles they play in doing God’s work.
Our main goal is not baptism but discipleship,” Bacdayan said. We need to realize that every soul that we brought to the cross must bear fruit.”
Bacdayan also emphasized that every church must be a training center and pastor and elder must be a disciple maker.
North Philippine Union Mission (NPUM) ministerial secretary, Pastor Frank Gayoba educated the pastors on the challenge of un-entered and low Adventist presence territories, and church planting; thus, aiding pastors to understand the big task entrusted to them.
“Maximize resources for evangelism in target areas where we are most needed,” Gayoba said. “Involve church members.”
In his presentation, Gayoba enumerated places in Central Luzon where Adventism has no or low existence and encouraged pastors to focus on these target areas in the next three or four years.
The evening session centered on the devotional and future preparation aspects of the pastors. The speakers included, pastors and administrators from the territory: Pastor Nehemias Macatiag, area 5 worker; Pastor Carmelito Galang, Jr., CLC president; Jessie Calera, CLC treasurer; and Pastor Benjamin Casimiro, executive secretary.
“Our duty is to tell those who do not know what we know,” Galang challenged the pastors.
Guests from the Bank of the Philippine Islands discussed saving possibilities for pastors that can be done automated for the monetary freedom of workers in the territory.
