"A child's glory is his father." Proverbs 17:6b (TLB)

There are many ways to measure success; not the least of which is the way your child describes you when talking to a friend.

CLC-CHM Sets the 1st CLC-Wide Bonding Trip

"What a trip!" Those were the words exclaimed by most of the children who joined the first conference-wide Bonding Trip last May 31. The Children's Ministries (CHM) Department of the Central Luzon Conference (CLC), headed by Mrs. Josie Felda Calera, organized the trip for the purpose of making children from local churches aware of this CLC department that caters to their needs.

Pastor Diosdado Fofue spoke at the morning devotional that formally started the event. After Mrs. Calera's brief orientation, the children immediately went to the CLC-CHM office that served as their first itinerary.

The next stop was at the North Philippine Union Conference (NPUC) headquarters where Mrs. Norlin Cadapan, the NPUC-CHM director, opened her office for the children. The group was welcomed at the conference room and healthy snacks were provided. The children's coordinators were also given magazines.

The highlight of the event was the travel to the Southern Asia Pacific Division (SSD) headquarters during which the rain stopped and the sun shined down, making the children appreciate nature more.

Mrs. Dulce Veronica Mabituin, SSD-CHM Department secretary, and Mrs. Yane Sinaga, SSD in-charge of the archives, led in the tour of the SSD department offices, worship hall and conference room.

The last stop was at the 1,000 Missionary Movement (1000MM) headquarters where fun games for the kids were held.

A commitment service to cap the day was also held at the 1000MM. Pastor Adriel Gavenia, 1000MM general manager and treasurer, emphasized in his commitment message that our Creator wanted to save this world from the devil's deceitful threats and that He needed soldiers who are willing to give their time and talents for the Lord's work. His message challenged the kids to offer their lives to the Lord and spend even one year as missionary volunteers when they become grown-up individuals.

"I never thought that this children's trip would mark as one of the significant events in my life here in this earth. I finally came to visit our institutions for the first time. And I thank and praise the Lord for that," said a participating mother from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan church.
