"A child's glory is his father." Proverbs 17:6b (TLB)

There are many ways to measure success; not the least of which is the way your child describes you when talking to a friend.

CLC-CHM Actively Participates On Evangelism

"Suffer the little children to come unto me. . ." The significance of this verse that was uttered by the Savior was reemphasized at the "Hope in Times of Crises" crusade held at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City, on May 3-15, 2009. Children from different corners of the city were in attendance during this nightly crusade held at the Grand Ballroom of the hotel.

Though the event was originally intended for adult listeners, the crusade organizers, the Southern Asia Pacific Division Children's Ministries Department (SSD-CHM) headed by Mrs. Miriam Andres and the Northern Philippine Union Conference-CHM headed by Mrs. Norlin Cadapan, thought of inviting the children of the guests/interests to the crusade.

The CHM was given the opportunity to be part of the nutrition booth. The invited kids were gathered at a long table designed with colorful and creatively-shaped balloons. There were also children from different churches who served as coordinators.

The place for the guest kids, called the children's nook, was where they were entertained and given hands-on activities.

The activities focusing on the nutritious foods, fruits and vegetables were aimed at reminding each child to eat healthy foods. The following were the different activities enjoyed by the kids during the nightly presentation:

1st night - Fabric printing
2nd night - Ballooning
3rd night - Fruits made of circles
4th night - A Circle of Fruits and Vegetables
5th night - Making of Slippers
6th night - Frames for Mother's Day Celebration
7th night - Ballooning
8th night - Pastel of Paris - Ceramic Printing
9th night - Fabric Printing
10th night - Flower Making

Bro. Dave Varona, nutrition booth coordinator, provided refreshments for the nightly meetings.

Ester Penaflor, the craftmaster, commented, "Coming nightly to this crusade is a tiresome experience, however, you will feel young once you are working with children."
