The event started during the Sabbath School program where Pastor Sherman Fiedacan, the present youth director of the CLC, gave a message on how the youth could improve their personal devotion with Christ. After the Sabbath School came the Divine Service where Pastor Richard Tamayo discussed and shared about the Urban Ministry and how it works in evangelizing people living in an urban place. The message challenged the CLC-AMiCUS to be involved in this ministry specially those members whose schools are located in urban areas. Aside from the message given by Pastor Tamayo, the Pasay Adventist Church Deaf Ministry also gave a message in song interpretation before and after Pastor Tamayo’s message.
During the AY Program in the afternoon, Pastor Fiedacan shared another message, but about reaching out and evangelizing this time. He shared his personal experiences and messages from the Bible and Ellen White’s writings in order to encourage the AMiCUS to share th gospel to other people, specially to their schoolmates, as part of their ministry. It was also during the AY Program when the Question and Answer portion was held in order to answer the members’ concerns and to help them with their problems as Seventh-day Adventists studying in non-Adventist institutions.
Before the AY Program was finally ended, everyone was given his/her CLC-AMiCUS buddy who will be his/her spiritual partner from a different chapter. This is part of the activity Buddy in One-Other in One-Two in One which aims to strengthen the camaraderie and friendship of each individual members to other members of the CLC-AMiCUS.
During the evening, a devotional was led by the AMiCUS-PUP chapter where it’s adopted member, Nelven Alavanza, gave a message about our near marriage with God. After the devotional was the social night where everyone went treasure hunting.
The next morning was given for the commitment service that was led by Pastor Fiedacan and was participated by every member of the CLC-AMiCUS Association. The service was done by candle lightning as sign of giving and sharing light to the people, and by taking a pledge of commitment to the Lord.
