CLC-Wide Festival of Laity

CENTRAL LUZON CONFERENCE-WIDE FESTIVAL OF THE LAITY

There are about 500 hundred people gathered at San Fernando City, Pampanga on October 7-9, 2011 to witness the 1st Festival of the Laity in the history of Central Luzon Conference, a program with the theme “Revival and Reformation” organized by the Sabbath School, Personal Ministries, ACS and ASI headed by Pastor Jose V. Zabat Jr.

With fiery spirit, that headed to attend this one of a kind event without being bothered by the non-stop heavy rain not even the flooded towns of Pampanga wave their inmost to take part in this celebration of faith and mission.

The Laity as they are called is composed of ministers, laymen and laywomen along with the church officers, commissioned to become agents in proclaiming the message of salvation.

The meeting was started on Friday at 4:00 PM with the keynote address of Pastor Benjamin Casimiro NPUC SS/PM director. He gave an emphasis on the Power of Prayer. The conference hall of Rhosean’s Garden Resort could not hold the number of delegates in this event. Actually, the committee expects that only 300 laymen may attend unfortunately, the number of delegates reached to more than 500.

Other speakers for this festival were Pastor Israel Bacdayan, he inspired the delegates with his message The Power of Worship. Pastor Albert Regoso stressed the “Power of Team Building”. Pastor Benjamin Casimiro emphasized the “Power of the Small Group”, next to him is the director of ADRA GÖran Hansen, and the main speaker for this event is Pastor Hermogenes Villanueva, he challenged the participants to keep doing God’s work though it is expensive.

To inspire and encourage the laity Pastor Zabat includes the Institute of Christian Ministries graduation as part of the program. Out of 221 students of ICM there were 72 completed the requirements of the course and received their certificates.

Truly God is leading them to experience His great and marvelous works making them more effective instruments in sending the light to the world.

Rejoicing never ceases for Dr. Villanueva close the festival with his commitment message. The success of this meeting is greatly honor to our Lord, that only through His power that lives in us then we can accomplish His mission.
