To meet the challenge of having dedicated and good leaders of the church, the Area 4 (Bulacan) Seventh-day Adventist Churches held a retreat at Luzon Baptist Camp, Brgy. Lucunin, Mariveles, Bataan last June 26. More than thirty (30) elders coming from different churches in Bulacan feasted together on the Word of God with the theme "Christ our Foundation."
"'Take root below and bear fruit above,' must be the echoing words of every church elder. This can be done through constant Bible study, meditation and communion with Him," said by Pastor Sherman Fiedacan, Area 4 chairman during the opening night.
"God is a God of order, He is not the God of confusion, our church is expected to give Him glory with orderliness," emphasized by Pastor Dan dela Paz during his lecture on "Pulpit Decorum of the church.""When church members pray together, problems loosened up. Prayer, I believe is one of the strongest ministries that we can do not only to others but also to ourselves. When we do this, great revival will happen to our churches and to our own lives as well," said emphatically by Pastor Gerry Estabillo in his lecture about the importance of prayer in the church.
"Even the strongest challenge cannot shake the church if our leaders learn to put Christ as the foundation of every church business," shared by Pastor June Canosa, CLC legal counsel during his divine service message.
After the morning session, Atty. Melito Fernandez, legal counsel of CLC, shared his expertise in legal parlance about the topic of "Sanctity of Marriage." In the afternoon, Judge Vicky Pornillos led out the open forum. Delegates asked different questions regarding the topic. "Kahit paano ay naibsan ako ng pangamba dahil sa mga kasagutan ng ating mga abudago," said by Pastor Tony Salarza.
In the evening the delegates held their social gathering. "Akala nila hindi na natin kayang makisabay sa mga kabataan, kalabaw lang yata ang tumatanda," jokingly said by Bro. Albert Soco.
"Marami na akong nasalihang pagsasanay para sa mga leaders ngunit ito ay kakaiba, busog na sa lectures, masaya pa dahil lalo kaming nagkaroon ng bonding sa mga kapwa elders at sa mga pastors. Masayang mga laro ang nagpabata pa sa amin." Concluded by Bro. Romy Reofrir.
