Thirty-six (36) ministerial interns from various missions and conferences of the North Philippine Union Conference (NPUC) attended the Intern Institute held at the Central Luzon Adventist Academy (CLAA), on July 6-17, 2009. Spearheaded by Pastor Francisco Gayoba, Ministerial Secretary of the NPUC, the Institute served as a forum for discussion on issues concerning pastors.
Serving as lecturers are the Ministerial Secretaries of NPUC, namely: Pastor Israel Cabason of Northern Luzon Mission, Pastor Willie Ortaleza of Mountain Provinces Mission, Pastor Diosdado Fofue of the Central Luzon Conference, and Pastor Jasper Flores of South Central Luzon Conference and Pastor Mar Rosacina of Southern Luzon Mission.
During the lecture portion, Pastor Fofue stressed the necessity of Personal Devotion, Appearance, Health, Finance, and Team Ministry. Pastor Ortaleza discussed the Development of Personal Support Group, Time Management, Relationship within the Church and Attitude. Pastor Cabason presented a lecture on Adventism as Unique Worldwide Movement, Relationship outside the Church, Filling System and Record Management. Pastor Flores discussed Church Policies, Occasional Services and Evangelism and Nurture of New Converts. Pastor Rosacina shared the Continuing Education, Finance, Visitation of Members and Conflict Resolution.
Prior to the lectures, an examination was given to the attendees based on the handouts given as advance readings. After the examination, the lectures were given followed by a question-and-answer portion.
Seven interns from CLC attended the institute: Jonel Fofue, Marlon Ramirez, Ramel Villamor, Rene Paulino, Ernie Marin, Don Morredas and Jay r Milano Jr.
Dan Matulac, an intern of PAM (Palawan Attached Mission) said, "The Intern Institute is a privilege, opportunity and a blessing for me. Through this, I am now more committed and competent to the ministry which God has entrusted me."
"My sense of calling into the gospel ministry is revived. I am reminded to live an exemplary life of holiness and commitment to the Lord. By God's help, I am looking forward that I can best represent God in all aspects of my ministry," Noel Marinas, of MPM said.
Robert Dulay of SCLC exclaimed, "I was inspired, challenged and revived! My calling becomes apparent to me."
