"A child's glory is his father." Proverbs 17:6b (TLB)

There are many ways to measure success; not the least of which is the way your child describes you when talking to a friend.

Pastors pay courtesy call on new QC mayor

The Quezon City Area Council officers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, representing the members , paid courtesy call on new Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista at his office, conveying their warm congratulation to the head of the largest and the richest city in the Central Luzon Conference (CLC) territory and the whole archipelago, last August 2.

The Area Management Committee (AMC) of Quezon City representing 31 churches, nine companies, and six districts visited during the People's Day of this new administration.

During the said meeting, the officers of the said council presented some of the programs that will cater to all the barangays through volunteers who will serve in every part of the city through the community services projects, Smoking, Alcohol, Drugs Free (SADFree) Movement initiatives, and moral educational programs among others.

Mayor Bautista requested the church to reach out and if possible tap the neglected people group in his constituency which are the families of the (Overseas Filipino Workers) OFW which according to him are the ones affected by the economic crises and the lives of the children as well as the couples are marred by distance and the separation brought about by the working overseas.

The ministers presented to Bautista in advance the handouts and books of Mark Finley, Hope Impact 2, which will be distributed throughout the Philippines on October 2, 2010.

Before the AMC left the hall, Area Council chairman, Pastor Winefredo Ellazar of the Manila Evangelistic Center Church, offered a prayer for the success of the leadership of the Bautista administration.

Through this meeting, the AMC looks forward to bringing the church members to participate more in their social witnessing and making their respective territories/cities as their mission world.
