April 17, 2011 – Central Luzon Conference – Cucueco Hall is filled with singers and musicians who came together to receive their certificates of completion for their one year struggle in attending classes every 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.
The Music Ministries Department commences the Music Leadership Training Course for our Church Music Leaders in coordination with the Advent Institute of Music (A.I.M.) under Professor Dante Oblimar, AUP Music Department Chair and founder of the institute. Starting January of 2010 until February of 2011, this batch of music leaders is energized to unwind themselves with music ideas, principles and instructions. They are empowered with the following subjects like Song Leadership, Philosophy of Adventist Music and Worship, Fundamentals of Music, Church Music Administration, Keyboard Playing, Choral Conducting, Voice Class and Chorus Class. On the other hand, many are discovered with their leadership skills.
As a result, there were twenty-five (25) music leaders who received their credentials as an affirmation that they are now a certified partners in promoting good music in the church. During the culmination of the program, a recital of what they have learned was presented. Pastor Ismael Caroro, Livelihood & Family Ministries Director who has also an inclination to Music, shared his expertise through God’s words and is considered as the final instruction for the newly empowered graduates to engage in this ministry. The Nature’s Singing Group from Montalban Heights SDA Church under the supervision of Bro. Antonio Ramada, and the Angelic Voices (a Children’s Choir) from Marikina SDA Church conducted by Sis. Janet Pineda were born as a result of this program.
